116205 Petty Officer Thomas Henry Bond of the Royal Navy,, HMS Ocean. Son of Thomas and Louisa Bond. Born in Plympton 1 December 1895. Drowned 10 September 1914 aged 19.

4878 Company Quartermaster Sergeant Albert William Cornish of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Emily Cornish. Born in Bideford in the June Quarter of 1877. Died 19 September 1914 aged 37.

310780 Sergeant Cowell of the 18th Army Field Brigade, the Royal Engineers.  Son of George and Jane Cowell. Born in Abbotskerswell in the March Quarter of 1888. Died 30 September 1918 aged 30.

6224 Lance Corporal Frank Augustus Ridout Evans of Princess Patricia's  Canadian Light Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment). Son of Frank and Antonia Evans of Moor Park, Newton Abbot. Born in Babbacombe in the September Quarter of 1891. Died 14 April 1914 aged 23. He was a Canadian citizen. Awarded the Military Medal.

61299 Sergeant Harry Hawkins of the Royal Garrison Artillery. Husband of Amelia Hawkins of The Cross, Ipplepen. Born in Abbotskerswell in the September Quarter of 1886 and lived in Torbryan. Died 5 December 1917 aged 31. Awarded the Military Medal.

21648 Captain Sidney Herbert Lomax of "A" Depot Coy, the Royal Engineers. Son of John and Charlotte Lomax; husband of Philippa Lomax of Park View Newton Abbot. Born in Newton Abbot in the December Quarter of 1890. Died 22 August 1917 aged 26. Buried in Abbitskerswell Churchyard.

16331 Sergeant Jesse Marsh of the 6th Somerset Light Infantry. Son of Edwin and Elizabeth Marsh of Abbotskerswell. Born in Newton Abbot in 1890. Died 16 September 1916 aged 27.

2nd Lieutenant John Martin of 229 Siege Battery, the Royal Garrison Artillery. Only son of Edith and the late John Martin of The Beacon, Abbotskerswell. Born in Papworth Everard, Cambridgeshire in 1892. Died 19 December 1917 aged 25.

47331 Private William Francis ("Frank") Norton of the 20th Battalion, the Northumberland Fusiliers; formerly 179398 of the Royal Engineers. Husband of Elizabeth Norton. Born in Coffinswell in 1881. Died 28 April 1917 aged 36.

22810 Ordinary Seaman Alfred Rowe of the RNVR, at the Royal Naval Depot at Crystal Palace. Son of Richard and Elizabeth Rowe; brother of Herbert Rowe (see below). Born in Staverton in 1901, Died of illness 22 October 1918 aged 18.

10369 Private Herbert John ("Bert") Rowe of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Richard and Elizabeth Rowe; brother of Alfred Rowe (see above). Born in Staverton in 1897. Died 20 July 1916 aged 19. Burfied in Abbotskerswell Churchyard.

4966 Private Sydney J. W. of the 3rd/7th Battalion, the Worcestershire Regiment.  Son of Samuel and Anna Smith of Fore Street, Brixham. Born in Exeter in 1877. Died 14 January 1917 aged 40. Buried in Abbotskerswell churchyard.

47309 Private Ernest J. Stoneman of the 14th Squadron Cavalry, the Machine Gun Cavalry.  Son of Harry and Ellen Stoneman of Prospect Place, Abbotskerswell. Born in Abbotskerswell in 1896. Died 29 May 1917 aged 20.

2940 Bugler Charles John Symons of the 5th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Parents not known - in the 1911 Census he was living at St Leonard's Cottage Home for Boys in Newton Abbot and his date of birth is given as 1898. Died 18 October 1915 aged 17.

2026 Private William James Tubb of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment.   Born in Colchester in 1882. Died 28 October 1914 aged 32.

113339 Driver George W. A. Tucker of "D" Battery, the 17th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Son of William and Mina Tucker of Aller Mill Cottage. Born in Coffinswell in 1896. Died 30 August 1918 aged 22.
