Brian Randell has transcribed a number of Devon's Militia listings as originally published in Trewman's Flying Post. This list is a muster roll of Volunteers dated 1801 and published 9 April 1801. At this period, the various militia corps of Devon were being mobilised in case Napoleon should invade - hence the oath of allegiance required of the men.
