W.BARTINGALE
PLY/13252 Private William ("Will") Bartingale of the Royal Marine Light Infantry, HMS Goliath. Son of William and Sarah Bartingale; husband of Lily Bartingale late of Bideford. Born in  Richmond, Surrey 31 January 1881. Enlisted 22 August 1899. Died 13 May 1915 aged 34.
L. FINNEGAN
1467 Corporal Lawrence Bernard Finnegan of the 1st/6th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment.  Son of Caroline Allin (formerly Finnegan) and the late Thomas Francis Finnegan. Born in Cambridge in the March  Quarter of of 1895. Died 3 February 1917 aged 21 whilst a Turkish Prisoner of War.
L. GRIBBELL
2nd Lieutenant Leslie Terrell Gribbell of the 3rd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of William H. Gribbell (Paymaster-in-Chief of the Royal Navy) and his wife Jessie of West Villa , Northam. Born in Zanzibar in 1884. Died 31 March 1916 aged 32.

346058 Private John Hearn of the 16th Battalion, (The Royal Devon Yeomanry and the Royal North Devon Yeomanry), the Devonshire Regiment. Son of the late William Hearn of Rixlade and Selina Hearn. Born at Rixlade in 1891. Died 2 September 1918 aged 27.
W. C. HOOPER
27760 Private William Charles Hooper of the 6th Battalion, the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry; formerly 22334 of the Somerset Light Infantry. Stepson of John Butler and his wife Mary (formerly Mary Hooper) of Torrington Lane Bideford. Born in Bideford in 1876. Died 16 September 1916 aged 40.

7156 Drummer Herbert Joy of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of John and Emily Joy of Stone, Bideford. Born in Bideford in 1885. Died 16 September 1914 aged 30.
W. KERR
Lieutenant William John Kerr of the 2nd Battalion, the Cameronians (The Scottish Rifles). Son of Russell and Miriam Kerr; Grandson of the late J. R.  Pine-Coffin of Portledge, Bideford.  Born in West Derby, Liverpool in 1891. Died 10 March 1915 aged 24.
H. C. LLOYD
Lieutenant Hugh Clifford Chetwode Lloyd of the 1st Battalion, the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. Son of the late Lieut-Col William Chetwode Lloyd of Kilstrana, Bideford and his wife Catherine. Born in Steyning, Sussex in the March Quarter of 1892. Died 25 February 1916 aged 24.
W. L. MAY
10251 Private William Lewis May of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Thomas and Ellen May of Westleigh. Born in Westleigh in the March Quarter of 1899.  Died 25 September 1915 at the age of 16. Enlisted at the age of 15.
H. MOON
86818 Lance Corporal Herbert Edward Moon of teh 58th Coy, the Machine Gun Corps Infantry. Son of Job and Elizabeth Moon. Born in Edmonton, Birmingham in 1886. Lived at New Southgate, Bideford. Died 26 August 1918 aged 32. Worked at Messrs Nicklin as a piano tuner.
T. SMALLDON
8110. Private Thomas Smalldon, the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Thomas and Grace Smalldon of Vinegar Hill, Bideford. Born in Bideford in 1888. Enlisted in the Devonshire Regiment 12 March 1906. Died 14 January 1915 aged 24.

495160 Sapper John George Spry. Son of John and Anna Spry of Bucks Mills; husband of Emily Spry. Born in Bideford in 1876. Died 28. November 1918 aged 42.
