W. DARCH
2546 Private William Darch of the 1st/6th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of the late Alfred Darch and Mary Elizabeth Darch (née Edwards). Born in Wembworthy in 1893. Died 17 December 1916 aged 23.
H. DAVIE

Veterinary Surgeon Henry William Wilson Davie of the Army Veterinary Corps. Husband of Mary Elizabeth Davie (née Copp) of The Green, Crediton. Born in Barnstaple in the June Quarter of 1871. Died 23 November 1915 aged 44. *Found drowned in Montreal Harbour.

J. DELVE
28669 Corporal John Delve of "X" Coy, 4th T.M. Battery, the Royal Garrison Artillery. Son of Esau John and Lucy Delve of 16 Park Street, Crediton. Born in 1890. Died 8 April 1917 aged 27.
W. DODDRIDGE
172126 Gunner William Sargent Doddridge of the 270th Siege battery, the Royal Garrison Artillery. Son of William and Ellen Doddridge of Crediton; husband of Emily Marian Meffan (formerly of  Randwick, Sydney, Australia). Born in Crediton in the March Quarter of 1894. Died 13 January 1919 aged 26. Died at home and buried in Holy Cross churchyard, Crediton, near the north boundary.
S. DYMOND
5714 Rifleman Stanley Wilson Dymond of the 9th Battalion, the London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles). Son of John and Maria Dymond of Crediton. Born in Crediton in the December Quarter of 1893.Died in Liverpool from wounds received in France 24 September 1916 aged 22. Buried in Holy Cross churchyard, Crediton, south of the church.
H. EDWARDS
2nd Lieutenant Henry Frederick Edgecumbe Edwards of the 1st Battalion, the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. Son of Edgecumbe Ferguson Edwardes and Emily Yari Edwardes (née Dobson) of Springfield, Crediton. Born in 1880. Killed in action in Mesopotamia 6 February1917 aged 37.
J. ELSTON
15101 Private John Elston of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Uriah and Mary Elston; husband of Lavinia Elston, 4 Southwoods Buildings, Cowick Street, Exeter. Born in Crediton in the March Quarter of 1875. Died 1 July 1916 aged 41.
S. ELSTON
1583 Corporal Stanley Gordon Elston of the Royal Army Medical Corps. Son of Elias and Jane Elston of Crediton; husband of Mary A. Elston (née Casey) of Heaton, Newcastle on Tyne. Born in Crediton in the September Quarter of 1890. Died 5 February 1921 aged 30.
C. ERSCOTT
2521 Private Cecil Henry Erscott of the 1st/6th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment; transferred to the 2nd Dorsetshire Regiment. . Son of William and Ellen Erscott of Allerdown Cottage, Sandford, Crediton. Born in Crediton in the March Quarter of 1895. Died 19 July 1916 aged 21. He was taken prisoner at Kut and died in Turkish hands.
F. ERSCOTT
235136 Private Frederick Harold Erscott of "C" Coy, the 9th Battalion, the Leicestershire Regiment (transferred from the Devonshire Regiment). Son of George and Edith Annie Erscott of Coombe Lodge, Copplestone. Born in Crediton in the September Quarter of 1898. Died 9 November 1917 aged 19.
C. FLOOD
3302 Private Colin John Flood of the 34th Battalion, the Australian Infantry. Son of the late William and Mary E. Flood. Born in Crediton 23 December 1890. Died 31 March 1918 aged 27.
H. FROST
3946 Private Henry  ("Harry")  Frost of the Welsh Guards. (Two boys with this name were born in Crediton in 1878 and it has not yet been possible to identify which was commemorated on the Memorial). Died 8 October 1918 aged 40.
T. FROST
L/11560 Private Thomas Frost of the 4th Battalion, the Middlesex Regiment. Son of John and Ann Frost of Colebrooke. Born in Sandford, Crediton in the December Quarter of 1887. Died 14 October 1914 aged 27.
J. FURSMAN
Petty Officer Stoker James Merrifield Fursman ("Jimmie") of the Royal Navy, HMS Triumph - he served in the Royal Navy for 27 years. Son of James and Annie Fursman - his father was a shoemaker and the family lived in Cockwell, Crediton. . Born in Bristol 14 April 1876. Died 25 May 1915 aged 39.
