STANLEY BERE
b/19502 Private Stanley Edgar Bere of the 26th (Service) battalion, the Royal Fusiliers (The Banker's Regiment). Son of Edwin and Elizabeth Tremlett Bere of Copplestone; brother of Oswald (see below). Born in Exmouth in the September Quarter of 1891. Died 11 June 1916 aged 25.
OSWALD BERE
242019 Private Oswald Adams Bere of "B" Coy, 2nd/8th battalion, the Worcestershire Regiment. Son of Edwin and Elizabeth Tremlett Bere of Copplestone; brother of Stanley (see above). Born in the March Quarter of 1894 in Copplestone. Died 28 August 1917 aged 23.

PLY/17013 Samuel William Vanden Butt of the 1st Battalion, the Royal Marine Light Infantry. Son of Francis John and Ellen Butt of Sturridge, Sandford. Born in Sandford 17 June 1894. Died 24 March 1917 aged 23.
GEORGE COCKRAM
518 Gunner George Cockram of the Royal Horse Artillery. Son of William and Ethel Cockram of Down St. Mary. Born in Down St. Mary in 1899. Died 11 July 1915 aged 16.
CHARLES GRIBBLE
R/17233 Sergeant Charles Gribble MM of the King's Royal Rifle Corps. Son of the late John Gribble and Mary Jane Gribble. Born in Down St. Mary in 1893. Died 10 January 1918 aged 25.
ROBERT MEARDON
R/17234 Rifleman Robert Meardon of the 13th battalion, the King's Royal Rifle Corps. Son of Henry and Sarah Jane Merdon of 3 Station Road, Copplestone. Born in Barnstaple in 1895. Died 18 July 1916 aged 21.

15957 Private  Leonard  Charles Towt of the 2nd Battalion, the Dorsetshire Regiment. Son of Charles and Harriet Towt of Down St. Mary; attached as 15685 to the 3rd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Down St. Mary in 1898. Died 29 April 1916 aged 18.
HENRY WEBBER
K29037 Stoker 2nd Class Henry Webber of the Royal Navy, HMS Defence. Son of Henry and Sarah Ann Webber of Down St. Mary, nr. Bow. Born in Down St. Mary 27 January 1890. Died 31 May 1916 aged 25.

265853 Guardsman Stanley Hermon Quant of the 2nd battalion, the Coldstream Guards. Son of Hermon George and Louie Ellen Quant of Down St. Mary. Born in the December Quarter of 1916. Died between 23 and 24 of May 1940 aged 23.
