Lieutenant Harold Clement Montagne Lucas of the 2nd Ghurkas, King Edward's Own. Son of Lt. Col. Henry Frank E.Lucas and Kate Alman Lucas; brother of Claude (above) Born in Hereford in 1886. Died 2 November 1914 aged 38.

Lieutenant Claude de Neufville Lucas of the Royal Navy, HMS Indefatigable. Son of Lt. Col. Henry Frank E. Lucas and Kate Alman Lucas.  Stepson of Florence Lucas. Born in Dunchideock in the December Quarter of 1892. Died 31 May 1916 aged 23 in the Battle of Jutland.

Captain (later Major) James Fitzgerald Bannatyne of the 11th Hussars attached to the 23rd Battalion of the Manchester Regiment. Son of the late James Fitzgerald Bannatyne, JP; DL; of Haldon, Exeter and Fanningstown, Co. Limerick and Emily Gertrude Bannatyne (formerly Wilson) of Collipriest Cottage, Tiverton.. Born in Ireland in 1884. Died 14 May 1916 aged 32.

PLY/14915 Private Alfred Henry Medland of the Royal Marines Light Infantry. Son of Sydney and Elizabeth Medland of North Lew. Born in Dunchideock 19 March 1892. Died of disease 24 January 1917 aged 24.
A.J.HUTCHINGS
22887 Sergeant Albert James Hutchings of the 62nd Squadron, the Royal Flying Corps. Son of George and Elizabeth Hutchings; husband of Mrs. I. K. Hutchings. Born in Dunchideock in 1895. Died 2 march 1918 aged 23.

D/JX 362620 Able Seaman Cecil Wallace Ireland of the Royal Navy, 515 LCA Flotilla. Son of Leslie and Violet Ireland. Born in Crediton in the March Quarter of 1922. Died 6 June 1944* aged 22.

He died taking part in the D-Day landings.
