Lieut. Charles Vivian de Grete Edye of the 2nd Battalion, the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. Son of Ernest and Kate Edye of Syon House, East Budleigh. Born in 1886. Died 30 October 1914 aged 28.

204611 Able Seaman Charles Henry Farr of the Royal Navy, HMS Majestic. Son of Henry and Mary Ann Farr. Born in 1883. Died 27 May 1915 when his ship was lost.

2997 Trumpeter Reginald Arthur Farr of "A" Battery, 228th Brigade, the Royal Field Artillery. Son of Walter and Matilda Farr of Littleham, Exmouth. Born in East Budleigh in 1895. Died 26 September 1916 aged 21.

Lieut-Col. Beresford Gibbs, Commanding Officer  of the 3rd Battalion , the Worcestershire Regiment. Son of the Rev. W and Mrs . K. Beresford; brother of Edward (See below). Born in Abingdon, Bucks in 1881; educated at Newton College. Died 3 September 1916 aged 35.

Chaplain  (4th Class) Edward Reginald Gibbs of the Royal Army Chaplain's Department; attached to the 1st Battalion, the Grenadier Guards. Son of the Rev. W Beresford Gibbs(Rector of Clyst St. George) and Mrs . K. Gibbs; brother of Beresford  (See above).  Born in Hagley, Worcestershire in 1885. Died near Arras 29 March 1918 aged 32.

1386 Corporal (Samuel) Tolman  Lawrence of the Royal 1st Devon Yeomanry. Son of Thomas and Susan Lawrence, Born in Honiton in the September Quarter of 1886. Died at home 20 October 1918 aged 32. Buried in East Budleigh Churchyard.

2nd Lieut. Francis Pepys of the 2nd Battalion, the Ox and Bucks Light Infantry.  Sopn of Arthur and margaret Pepys of Knowle House; brother of Kohn (see above). Born in East Budleigh in 1892. Died 12 November 1914 aged 23. Awarded the DSO.
