Lieutenant Horace Heptonstall Backhouse of the 8th Battalion, the King's own (Royal Lancashire) Regiment. Son of George and Grace Backhouse of the New Inn, Ermington. Born in Taunton in the September Quarter of 1885. Died 23 August 1918 aged 33. Awarded the Military Cross.
H.C.FOWLER
2nd Lieutenant (Cadet) (Gazetted Cadet Lieutenant 27 February 1917) Hilgrove Croydon Fowler formerly 49171 of the Devonshire Regiment; attached to the 1st Garrison Battalion. Son of Louis and Lilla Fowler. Born in Devonport in the September Quarter of 1897. Died 12 October 1918 aged 21.

Captain Rodney Gransmore of the 3rd Battalion, the Middlesex regiment. Son of Sophia and Frederick Gransmore ( his father was the Paymaster in Chief). Born in Ermington in the December Quarter of 1890. Educated at Kelly College. Died 28 September 1915 aged 25.

Lieutenant Raymond Wallis Rundle of the 1st Battalion, the Sherwood Foresters. Son of Colonel and Mrs G. R. T. Rundle. Born in India in Naini Tal in 1896. Died 9 May 1915 aged 19.
B.C.SPARROW
Captain Benjamin Charles Sparrow of the 1st Battalion, the 39th Garhwal Rifles . Son of Mrs M. Sparrow and the late Benjamin Sparrow. Born in Ermington in the March Quarter of 1882. Died 10 March 1915 aged 33.
L.G.SPARROW
Lieutenant George Lewis Sparrow of the 3rd/2nd Battalion, the Soutrh Wales Borderers. Son of Fanny Sparrow and the late Lewis Sparrow of Cadleigh House, Ermington.  Born in Ermington in 1882. Died 23 December 1914 aged 31.

241024 Private Arthur Edward Andrews of the 1st/5th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Thomas and Mary Jane Andrews of Plymouth. Born in Dalmeny, Fife in 1894. Died 28 July 1918 aged 24.

PLY/2275 Private John Witheridge Edmunds of the Royal Marine Light Infantry. Son of Richard and Mary Edmunds of Myrtle Cottage, Ermington. Born in Ermington in 1896. Died 21 August 1915 aged 19.

179631 Able Seaman Charles Hingston of the Royal Navy, HMS Indefatigable. Son of William and Hannah Hingston of Ermington. Born 10 January 1879. Died 31 May 1916 at the Battle of Jutland aged 38.

k14342 Stoker 1st Class Clifford Charles House of the Royal Navy, HMS Monmouth. Son of George and Deborah House. Born in Ermington in 1895. Died 1 November 1914 aged 19 at the Battle of Coronel.

103816 Private William Charles Luxon of the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry); formerly T4 684722, the Royal Army Supply Corps. Step son  of Lewis Full and Emily Full (formerly Luxon) . Born in Kenworthy Water, Cornwall in 1897 but  lived in Ermington. Died 9 December 1917 aged 20.

M4039 Sick Berth Attendant Stanley Russell Mortimore of the Royal Navy. Son of William and Jane Mortimore. Born 3 February 1893 in Ermington. Died in France in 1918. Received a commendation for his conduct at the Battle of Jutland.

16556 Private Thomas Pearse of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Thomas and Emily Pearse. Born in Ermington in 1897. Died 15 July 1916 aged 19.

K21709 Stoker 2nd Class Albert Edward Rogers of the Royal Navy, HMS Monmouth. Son of Elizabeth (w). Born in Ermington 25 October 1897. Died 1 November 1914 aged 17.
