WR/318465 Pioneer James Davey of the Royal Engineers. Died 17 November 1918. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.
C G DEAN

3/7712 Company Sergeant Major Charles George Dean of the Depot, the Devonshire Regiment. Husband of Ellen (née Dawe); father of Austin Dean of 3 Abbot's Road, the Priory Estate, Exeter. Born in London in 1868. Died 14 October 1917 aged 50. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

Served in the Burma War (1885-87 and 1889 - 90); served in the South African Campaign.

201607 Private Charles Deem of the 2nd/4th Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment. Son of Charles and Bessie Deem; husband of Mabel Staddon (formerly Deem) of Brookside, East Budleigh. Died 21 May 1916 aged 35. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.
G. G DENNIS

12382 Private George G Dennis of the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Scots Fusiliers. Died 13 July 1916. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

It is believed but not yet confirmed that this man was, in fact, still under age for service at the time of his death.

W D. DIAPER
Military record still not confirmed but this man is believed to be William Dolby Diaper, son of John Dolby Diaper and his wife Mary (née Wilden), who was born in Stowupland, Suffolk in 1871.His burial in this cemetery is  not recorded but in 1906 he married Emily Ann Kent of Stowmarket - she was buried in the Dissenter's section of  Exeter's Higher Cemetery 21 March 1933 aged 73.

30364 Private Sidney (aka Sydney) Amos Dickens of the 14th Battlalion, the Worcestershire Regiment. Son of Frank and Annie Dickens. Born in Newton Longville, Bucks, in the September Quarter of 1876. Died 9 October 1917 aged 40. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

273335 Gunner Maurice Herbert Dorey of the 3rd Reserve Brigade, the Royal Field Artillery. Son of Jesse and Mary Dorey of 8 Bonnington Grove, Heavitree, Exeter. Born in Beavitree in the December Quarter of 1899. Died 30 September 1918 aged 18. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

171 Private Thomas Henry Duddridge of the Royal Army Medical Corps. Son of Thomas Henry and Sarah Ann Duddridge. Born in Exeter in the December Quarter of 1896. Died 18 January 1918 aged 21. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

45132 Sergeant William Henry Eden of the 83rd Battery, the Royal Field Artillery. Husband of Rose Eden of 45, Cantonment, Jubblepore, India. Died 29 June 1915 aged 29. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

196691 Clerk 3rd Class Alfred Carlisle Edger of the RAF. Son of the late Alfred John Edger and Amelia Edger; married but wife not yet identified. Born in Gosforth, Northumberland in the June Quarter of 1880. Died 12 July 1919. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

01762 Private Arthur Edgerton (aka Egerton) (served as THOMAS). Son of William and Eliza Egerton of 18 Central Road, Sudbury, Middlesex. Born in Halifax in 1884, Died 31 July 1919 aged 35. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

309466 Private Reginald James Faulkner of the RAF. Son of Henry James and Elizabeth Faulkner of Magdalen Street, Exeter. Born in Exeter in the September Quarter of 1882. Died 22 November 1918 aged 36. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

M/13131 Cook's Mate 2nd Class  John Jacob Feenstra of the Royal Navy, HMS Vivid. Son of Emma B Hooker (formerly Feenstra) of 31 Jubilee Street, Exeter and A H Hooker (stepfather). Born in Capetown 13 March 1895. Died 22 September 1918 aged 23.  Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.

Born in Chorlton in the December Quarter of 1889. Died 6 February 1916 aged 26. Buried in the Higher Cemetery, Exeter.
