PERCY BEER
30019 Private Percy Beer of the 8th Battalion, the Somerset Light Infantry; formerly 1250 , the Devonshire Regiment. Son of James and Mary Beer. Born in Exminster in 1897. Died 19 November 1916 aged 19.
JOHN BEVAN
8430 Private John Henry Bevan of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of John and Frances Bevan. Born in Torquay in 1889. Died 20 August 1916 aged 27.
ANDREW BLACKMORE
7685 Private Andrew Blackmore of the 3rd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment; transferred as 359764 103 to 2nd Area Employment Coy. Son of Joseph and Mary Jane Blackmore, of Ashcombe, Dawlish.  Born in Minehead in 1886. Died 21 November 1918 aged 32.

15326 Private John Henry Bradford of the 9th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of James and Jane Bradford. Born in Exminster in 1896. Died 1 July 1916 aged 20.

15077 Private Albert Brailey of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Samuel and Susan Brailey  brother of Samuel (below). Born in Exminster in 1897. Died 13 May 1918 aged 20.

457356 Private Samuel Brailey of the 2nd/ 1st Field Ambulance, the Royal Army Medical Corps. Son of Samuel and Susan Brailey  brother of Albert (above).  Born in Exminster in 1895. Died 1 August 1916 aged 21.

M/10284 Carpenter's Crew Edward Crago of the Royal Navy, HMS Newmarket. Son of Edward and Mary Crago of St Budeaux, Plymouth. Born in Exminster in 1897. Died 17 July 1917 aged 20.
FREDERICK CRUMP
RMA 1949 (5) Lance Bombardier Frederick George Crump of the Howitzer brigade, The Royal Marine Artillery. Son of John and Ellen Crump. Born in Exminster in 1896. Died 10  July 1918 aged 30. 
BERTIE DIMENT
10062 Private Bertie Philip Diment of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Joseph and Mary Ann Diment. Born in Exminster in 1898. Died 25 September 1915 aged 17.
WILLIAM ELLACOTT
41372 Private William Ellacott of the 9th Battalion, the South Staffordshire Regiment; formerly 20397 of the Royal Engineers. Son of William and Jane; husband of Leah Ellacott. Born in  Hatherleigh in 1898. Died 20 October 1917 aged 39. 
ERNEST ENGLAND
74044 Sergeant Ernest Reeves England of the Royal Army Medical Corps. Husband of Louisa England. Born in Lapford in 1871. Died 27 March 1918 aged 47.
JOHN FARMER
365778 Officer's Steward 1st Class John Farmer of the Royal Navy, HMS Anchusa. Son of John and Emily Farmer. Born in Plymouth 19 December 1890. Died 16th July 1918 aged 28 when his ship was sunk off Ireland by U54. 
ALFRED FINCH
22761 Gunner Alfred Lion Finch of the Royal Garrison Artillery. Son of James and Kate Funch. Born in Exeter in 1887. Died 19 August 1917 aged 30. Awarded the Military Medal.
ERNEST HAMILTON
15273 Private Ernest Hamilton of the 10th Battalion, the Cheshire Regiment. Son of John and Louisa Hamilton.

ALFRED HOLWILL

(Name = Frederick Holwill)

345250 Private Fred Holwill of the 16th Battalion (the Royal Devon Yeomanry and the Royal North Devon Yeomanry). Son of Charles and Mary Holwill of Kennford. Born in Little Torrington in 1881 but came to live in Kennford. Died 6 November 1917 aged 36.
WILLIAM HUNT
200041 Private William Henry Hunt of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Parents not yet confirmed. Born in Sandford in 1875. Died 1 July 1916 aged 41.
ALBERT KEENE MM
11630 Sergeant Albert Henry Keene of the Royal Horse and Field Artillery. Son of Thomas and Mary Jane Keene. Born at Escott,  Ottery St Mary, in the December Quarter of 1890. Died 17 October 1917 aged 27. Awarded the Military Medal. 
ROBERT KEKEWICH CB
Major General Robert George Kekewich (Retired), who defended Kimberley for 126 days against the Boer armies. Born at Peamore House, nr. Exminster 17 June 1854.  He was found dead in his bedroom 5 November 1914, aged 60, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head . He had returned to active service as Commander of the 13th Western Division in June 1914.
ARTHUR KEKEWICH
Captain Arthur St John Mackintoch of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Charles Granville  and Mary Kekewich. Born 24 June 1887. Died 25 September 1915, aged 28, at the battle of Loos. 
GEORGE KEKEWICH
Captain George Kekewich of the City of London Yeomanry Battalion, the Household Cavalry. Son of Lewis and Lilian Kekewich; brother of Hanbury and John (see below). Born in Bromley, Kent.  in 1889.Died 28 October 1917 aged 28.
HANBURY KEKEWICH
Major Hanbury Lewis Kekewich of the Sussex Yeomanry Battalion, the household Cavalary. Son of Lewis and Lilian Kekewich; brother of George (above) and John (below). Born in London in 1885. Died 6 November 1917 aged 32.
JOHN KEKEWICH
Captain John Kekewich of the 8th Battalion, the Buffs (the East Kent Regiment). Son of Lewis and Lilian Kekewich; brother of George and Hanbury (above). Born in the Brommley, Kent, in the June Quarter of 1891. Died 25 September 1915 aged 24 at the Battle of Loos.

2844 Gunner (Alfred) John Knapman of the 60th Trench Mortar Battery, the Royal Field Artillery.   Son of James and Mary Knapman. Born in Exeter in 1892. Died 16 October 1916 aged 24.
JOHN LEACH
345254 Private Albert John Leach of the 16th Battalion (the Royal 1st Devon Yeomanry and the Royal North Devon Hussars) the Devonshire Regiment. Son of David and Lucy Leach of Exminster. Born in Exminster in 1897. Died 3 December 1917 aged 20. 
WALTER LOVERIDGE
J/43419 Ordinary Seaman Walter Loveridge of the Royal Navy HMS Vivid (Signals Shore establishment at Devonport). Son of William and Emily Loveridge. Born in Alphington in 19 March 1900. Died of Illness (probably Spanish Flu) 16 November 1918 aged 18. Buried in St Martin's churchyard.

30045 Private William Miller of the 8th Battalion, the Somerset Light Infantry. Son of Samuel and Emily Miller of Station Road, Exminster. Born in Exeter in 1895. Died 10 April 1917 aged 22.

3/7279 Private Henry ("Harry") Mitchell of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment; transferred as 258130 to the 210th Labour Corps. Son of William and Jane Mitchell of Exminster; husband of Florence Mitchell of Exeter; brother of Walter (below). Born in Exminster in 1878. Died 4 September 1917 aged 39.

3042 Private Walter Henry Selley of the 24th Battalion, the Royal Fusiliers. Son of Joseph and Annie Selley of Waybrook House, Exminster. Born in Exminster in 1897. Died 5 October 1916 aged 19.

241230 Private James Selley of "D" Company, the 7th Battalion, the Queen's Own Regiment. Son of George and Alice Selley of Lower Shillingford. Born in Shillingford in the June Quarter of 1890. Died 9 September 1918 aged 28.

41201 Rifleman Percival Henry Stanbury of the 1st/28th Regiment, the Rifle Brigade. Son of Henry and Rosina Stanbury ( his father worked at the Aylum as the Engineer.) Born in South Molton in 1900. Died 20 May 1918 aged 18.

45288 Lance Corporal William Ernest Stephens of the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Berkshire Regiment. Son of George and Elizabeth Stephens of Matford Cottage, Alphington. Born in Totnes in the March Quarter of 1895. Died 23 September 1918 aged 23.

31008 Lance Corporal Colin Charles Wedlake of the 7th Battalion, the Somerset Light infantry; formerly 1248 of the Devonshire Regiment. Grandson of James and Eliza Wedlake; son of their daughter Alice. Born in Powderham in 1896. Died 5 January 1918 aged 23.

5591 Private George Willcocks of the Royal Garrison Artillery. Son of Thomas and Mary Ann Willcocks of Lower Shillingford. Born in Exminster in 1885. Died 12 April 1917 aged 32.

'IN MEMORY OF CAPTAIN JOHN COCKBURN JESSOP TEAGUE ROYAL MARINE LIGHT INFANTRY (RETIRED) OF THE MIDDLE TEMPLE, BARRISTER-AT-LAW AND ELDEST SON OF THE REVEREND JOHN JESSUP TEAGUE MA VICAR OF THIS PARISH 1894-1905. CAPTAIN COCKBURN TEAGUE, CALLED UP FOR ACTIVE SERVICE AT THE OUTBREAK OF THE EUROPEAN WAR AUGUST 1914, TOOK PART IN THE DEFENCE OF ANTWERP, WHERE HE WAS WOUNDED, RECOVERED, AND AFTERWARDS FELL IN ACTION AT DARDANELLES ON MAY 14TH 1915 IN THE THIRTY THIRD YEAR OF HIS AGE. THE SOULS OF THE FAITHFUL ARE IN THE HAND OF GOD'
