100027 Major/Acting Lt-Col  Francis Colwill of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. Son of Morley and Sophia Colwill; husband of Edith Colwill. Born in Bideford in the March Quarter of 1917. Died 23 July 1944 aged 27. Major Colwill is also commemorated on the Chudleigh War memorial.
