B.R.WILLIAMS
Lieutenant Sir Burton Robert Williams Bt, of the 3rd and 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Sir William Williams bart and his wife Matilda, Lady Williams. Born at Upcott, Barnstaple in the September Quarter of 1889. Died between 3rd and 4th October 1917 aged 27. Twice mentioned in despatches.
T.COATES
Deck Hand Thomas Coates of the Royal Naval Reserve, HM Hired Trawler Earl Lennox, used as a minesweeper, mined and sunk off SW Scotland. Son of Thomas and Sarah Coates of Wrafton. Born in Braunton in 1876, Died 23 October 1917 aged 41. Commemorated on the Memorial at Plymouth.
W.EASTERBROOK
206711 Able Seaman William Thomas Easterbrook of the Royal Navy, HMS Hogue. Son of the late Henry and Jane  Easterbrook. Born in Heanton Punchardon 22 March 1884. Died  when the Hogue was sunk in action 22 September 1914 by U9  as she attempted to rescue survivors from her sister ship HMS Aboukir She sank within 15 minutes.

Private William Henry Hutchings  Son of Mr and Mrs James Hutchings of New Street, Torrington. Died 6 October 1917 aged 24.

345631 Corporal Thomas Frederick Huxtable of the 16th (Royal Devon and Royal North Devon Hussars) Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. . Son of Tryphena Huxtable and the late James Huxtable.  Born in Challacombe im 1891. Died 3 December 1917 aged 27

32762 Private William Richard ley of the 1st Battalion, the Lincolnshire Regiment. Son of William and Emma Ley; husband of Edith Ley of Holloway, London. Born in Barnstaple in the March Quarter of 1881. Died 25 July 1917 aged 36.
E.W.NEWCOMBE
19280 Lance Corporal Ernest William Newcombe of the 5th Battalion, the Dorsetshire Regiment; formerly 2007 of the Royal North Devon Hussars.  Son of Henry and Sarah Newcombe of the Exeter Inn, Wrafton. Born in Heanton Punchardon in the September Quarter of 1893. Died 11 January 1917 aged 23.

429 Sergeant Thomas Newcombe of the 1st/6th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of the late Frank and Rosa Newcombe, formerly of Wrafton; husband of Florence Newcombe. Born in Heanton Punchardon in the March Quarter of 1881. Died 29 August 1916 aged 35.

50289 Corporal Harry Ridge of the 2nd/6th Battalion, the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Son of Robert and Alice Ridge of Wrafton. Born in Heanton Punchardon in 1900. Died 21 August 1918 aged 19.

93828 Sergeant Alfred John Sanders of the 16th Battalion, the Royal Welsh Fusiliers; formerly 9520, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Thomas and Ann Sanders. Born in Heanton Punchardon in the March Quarter of 1894. Died 20 October 1918 aged 24.
C.TUCKER
L/6182 Boy Servant Cecil Tucker of the Royal Navy, HMS Victory. Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Tucker of East Ashford, Born in Heanton Punchardon in the June Quarter of 1898. Died of illness  13 October 1915 aged 17.
F.C.WILLIAMS
16307 Private Frederick Charles Williams of the 1st Battalion, the Coldstream Guards.  Son of Thomas and Ann Williams of Wrafton, Braunton. Born in Heanton Punchardon in 1896. Died 15 September 1915 aged 21.

5617579 Squadron Quarter Master Sergeant Leonard Albert Nike of the Reconnaissance Corps, the 45th Regiment of the Royal Armoured Corps. Husband of Eleanor Nike formerly of Heanton Punchardon. Born in Exeter in the December Quarter of  1913. Died 26 March 1944 aged 30.
