F.C.HODGE
5628712 Private Frederick Charles Hodge of the 11th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Albert and Ellen Hodge. Born in Totnes registration district in the September Quarter of 1912. Died of diptheria 12 January 1941 aged 28. Buried in St Mary's churchyard.

5624777 Private Frederick Arthur Wills of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment.  Son of William and Louisa Wills of Hennock. Born in Hennock in the March Quarter of 1917. Died 6 June 1944 aged 37.
E.RIDDLER
D/MX 60914 Writer Eric John  Riddler of the Royal Navy, HMS Glorious. Son of Joseph and Bessie Riddler. Born in Hennock in the June Quarter of 1921. Died 8 June 1940 aged 19.
K.TUCKER
155162 Sergeant/Wireless Operator Kenneth Charles Tucker of the RAF VR Malta, 110 Squadron. Son of  Charles Tucker and Florence Sercombe of Luckett, Cornwall. Born in the June Quarter of 1921 in Hennock.  Died 18 July 1941 during a failed mission to bomb a power station in Tripoli, Italy aged 20.

D/JX 151612 Able Seaman Patrick Thomas Lee of the Royal Navy, HMS Glorious.  Nephew of Arthur Lee and his wife Bessie. Born in Ipplepen in the September Quarter of 1910. Died 8 June 1940  aged 30 when his ship was lost.

1313807 Sergeant Francis (Frank)  Henry George Howard of the RAF VR, 426 Squadron (RCAF). Son of James and Diana Howard;  husband of Marjorie Howard of Northhamptonshire. Born in Hennock in the March Quarter of 1923. Died 9 June 1944 aged 21.
F.G.GERRING
5388050 Private Francis George Gerring of the the Queen's (the Royal West Surrey  Regiment, the 2nd/5th Battalion. Son of Robert and Gertrude Gerring; husband of Josephine Gerring of Hennock, Devon. Died 16 November 1944 aged 27 in Italy. He is also commemorated on the war memorial in Longcot, a village in the vale of the White Horse, formerly Berkshire, now Oxfordshire, where  he was born in the December Quarter of 1917.
