C.H.GOODING
P/KX 600496 Stoker 2nd Class Cecil Henry Gooding of the Royal Navy, HMS Bulolo. Son of Henry and Bertha Gooding of High Bickington; husband of Heather Gooding. Born in High Bickington in the March Quarter of 1923. Died 8 July 1945 aged 22 - he was the sole casualty reported from this ship and his entry states that he died on War Service.

7918307 Lance Corporal Ralph H. Gooding of the 10th Queen's Royal Lancers Armoured Corps. Son of Henry and Mary Gooding. Born in Kingston, Somerset  in the June Quarter of 1908. Died 24 April 1943 in the Middle East aged 35.
J.HARRIS
1313672 Aircraftman 1st Class  James Harris of the RAF VR. Son of James and Emily Harris of High Bickington.  Born in High Bickington in the March Quarter of 1922. Died 3 August 1944 aged 22. Buried in High Bickington Churchyard.
G.NORMAN
7882273 Lance Corporal George Norman of the Royal Tank Regiment, the Royal Armoured Corps.  Son of James and Mary Norman. Born in Devon in the December Quarter of 1911, and lived in Exeter. Died 4 December 1941 aged 30 in the Middle East.
F.RAWLE
117642 Flying Officer Frank Rawle of the RAF VR, 48 Squadron. Husband of Audrey Rawle of Taunton. Born in High Bickington in 1915. Died 17 October 1942 aged 27. He is believed to have been flying in a Wellington, and engaged in mine-laying in the Bay of Biscay when his plane was shot down.
D.J.WYTHE
5020249 Private Donald J. Wythe of the Devonshire Regiment, Infantry Division. Son of Albert and Helena Moore. ( a 2nd marriage for his mother) Born in High Bickington in the June Quarter of 1918. Died in Burma 18 April 1944 aged 26.
