GEORGE H RODD
1098 Gunner George Henry Rodd of No 1 Devon Heavy Duty Battery, the Royal Garrison Artillery. Son of George Henry Rodd of 79 St Brannock's Road, Ilfracombe and the late Mary Elizabeth Rodd; brother of John Rodd (see below). Born in Ilfracombe in the June Quarter of 1888. Died 21 November 1916 aged 28.  Buried in Holy Trinity Churchyard, Ilfracombe.

69525 Driver John Edward Rodd  of the 70th Battery, the Royal Field Artillery.  Son of George Henry Rodd of 79 St Brannock's Road, Ilfracombe and the late Mary Elizabeth Rodd; brother of George Rodd (see above). Born in Ilfracombe in the December Quarter of 1893. Died 29 September 1918 aged 23.
ERNEST ROGERS
186640 Sapper Ernest Rogers of the 247th Field Company, the Royal Engineers. Son of John and Sarah Rogers of Ilfracombe; husband of Ethel Rogers of 9 Watermouth Road, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in the September Quarter of 1894. Died 25 October 1917 aged 23.

23390 Private Alfred Reginald Salter of the 22nd Battery, the Royal Fusiliers. Son of Alfred William Stone and Letitia Salter of 27 Belmont Road, Ilfracombe.  Born in Pewsey in the June Quarter of 1896. Died 10 March 1917 aged 20.

34416 Private Arthur George Franklin Sanders of the 3rd Labour Company, the Northamptonshire Regiment; transferred as 84376 of the 141st Company, formerly 8903, the Royal Fusiliers. Son of George and Catherine Elizabeth Sanders of Chambercombe, Ilfracombe. Born in Ventnor, Isle of Wight in 1897. Died 22 June 1917 aged 21.

8598 Sergeant George Sanders of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Sarah Elizabeth Sanders of Horn Road, Ilfracombe and the late James Sanders. Born in West Ham in 1889. Died 10 March 1915 aged 26.
JACK SANDERS
2874 Private Jack Sanders of the 36th Battalion, Australian infantry. Son of Mrs. Ethel Symons of 8 Wilder Road and the late George Sanders, late of High Street, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in the December Quarter of 1896. Died 12 October 1917 aged 21. Became an Australian citizen.

8006 Private Ernest Short of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of James and Mina Short of Lincombe Cottage, Ilfracombe; brother of Frederick (below). Born in Ilfracombe in the March Quarter of 1890. Died 24 October 1914 aged 24.

8117 Private Frederick Short of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of James and Mina Short of Lincombe Cottage, Ilfracombe; brother of Ernest (above). Born in Ilfracombe in the March Quarter of 1888. Died 24 April 1916 aged 28.

Lieutenant Philip S. Slade-King of the 2nd Battalion, the Norfolk Regiment. Son of John and Maud Slade-King of Bickleighscombe. Born in Bampton in 1891. Died 13 May 1918 aged 27.

345875 Private Frederick  Percival ("Percy") Slocombe of the 16th Battalion, (the Royal Devon/Royal North Devon Yeomanry), the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Frederick and Emily Slocombe of 20 Highfield Road, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in the June Quarter of 1892. Died 6 November 1917 aged 25.

464008 Private Edwin Percival Stephens of the 100th Sanitary Section, the Royal Army Medical Corps. Son of Nathaniel and Fanny Stephens of 40 Fore Street, Ilfracombe. Born in Penzance in the September Quarter of 1887. Died 21 October 1917 aged 30.

WALTER STONEMAN
51415 Corporal Walter Charles Stoneman of the267th Devon Army Troops Company, the Royal Engineers. Son of the late Emmanuel and Harriet Stoneman. Born in Exeter in the June Quarter of 1883. Died 21 March 1918 aged 35.
BERT STRONG
Believed to be Albert Edward Strong who was born in Tiverton in 1871. He was 222530 Corporal Strong of the Labour Corps. and formerly 6447 of the Border Regiment. This man died 6 October 1917.
REGINALD T. SUMMERWILL
40283 Private Reginald Thomas Summerwill of the 1st Battalion, the Somerset Light Infantry. Son of William and Priscilla Summerwill of 13 South Burrow Road, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in the September Quarter of 1899. Died 14 April 1918 aged 18.
DOUGLAS SYMONS
2nd Lieutenant Douglas Symons of the 20th Battalion, the London Regiment. Son of George and Meta Symons of 15 Portland Street, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in the December Quarter of 1888. Died 1 October 1916 aged 28.
FREDERICK M THOMAS
2016 Company Sergeant Major Frederick Malcolm Thomas of the 17th Battalion, the Australian Infantry. Son of John and Louisa Thomas. Born in Kingsbridge in 1890. Died 27 February 1917 aged 27. (He worked a farm on his own at Chambercombe before he left for Australia.)

1100 Private Alfred Edward Trathen of the Royal North Devon Hussars. Son of John and Fanny Trathen; husband of Bessie (née German). Born in Clovelly in the June Quarter of 1874. Died 26 November 1915 aged 41.
FRANK TUCKER
38722 Sapper Frank Tucker of the 75th Field Company. the Royal Engineers. Son of George and Lucy Tucker of Beccott Farm, Arlington. Born near Ilfracombe in the December Quarter of 1892. Died 23 October 1915 aged 23.
RICHARD TUCKER
There is some confusion in connection with this man. It appears that William Richard Tucker (see below) used the name of Richard Tucker. Frank Tucker (above) had a brother named Richard but we have not yet been able to link him  with the name on the memorial.

496290 Lance Corporal Sidney John Tucker of the 475th Field Company, the Royal Engineers. Son of John and Elizabeth Tucker of 10 Highfield Road, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in 1895. Died 9 August 1917 aged 22.

29006 Private William Henry Tucker of the 9th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of henry and Emily Tucker; husband of Florence Tucker of 1 Croft Lea, Berrynarbor. Born in West Down, Ilfracombe in the June Quarter of 1893. Died 12 March 1917 aged 24.

Son of Richard and Bessy Tucker of Ilfracombe; husband of Edith May Tucker of 10 Broad Street, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in 1888. Died 25 November 1917 aged 29.

204246 Corporal William Richard Coham Turner of the 7th Battalion, the Somerset Light Infantry. Son of William Mills and Millicent Turner. Born in Ilfracombe in the June Quarter of 1881. Died 30 November 1917 aged 36.
ARTHUR H VERNALL
2nd Lieutenant Arthur Humphrey Vernall of the 3rd Battalion and the 6th Battalion, the Leicestershire Regiment. Son of Arthur Harry and Sarah Gertrude Vernall of Waldean Croft, Lea Park, Ilfracombe. Born in Camberwell in the June Quarter of 1883. Died 23 August 1918 aged 35. Awarded the Military Cross.
WILLIAM D VICARY
Lieutenant William Dallin Vicary of the 6th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment/Son of the late Captain Henry White Vicary and his wife Jane Vicary of Ilfracombe. Born in Greenwich in the September Quarter of 1887. Died 8 March 1916 aged 29.
BERTRAM WATTS
Mercantile Marine Apprentice Bertram Watts of the SS Rosalie (Cardiff). Son of Egbert and Mary Jane Watts of 10 Larkstone Crescent, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in the March Quarter of 1899. Died 20 February 1917 aged 18.

168432 Gunner George Pile Watts of "G" Anti-Aircraft Battery, the Royal Garrison Artillery. Son of Martha Watts of 21 Victoria Road, Ilfracombe and the late George Watts. Born in Ilfracombe in the September Quarter of 1887. Died 25 June 1917 aged 22.

34977 Sergeant Frederick Webber of the 10th Battalion, the Welsh Regiment. Son of George and Martha Webber of Higher Slade, Ilfracombe; husband of Jane Gertrude Webber of 14 Springfield Road, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in the September Quarter of 1884. Died 12 July 1916 aged 32.
GEORGE T. WEBBER
Not yet confirmed. George Thomas Webber may have been an older brother of Frederick( see above) who joined the Royal Marines in 1882.

181557 Able Seaman John Lourine Tavnor Weller of the Royal Navy, HMS Aboukir. Son of Walter Edmund and Harriet Weller of St. Leonard's; husband of Emma Willoughby Weller of 3 Langleigh Terrace, Ilfracombe. Born in Battle, 26 April 1878. Died 22 September 1914 aged 36.

6345 Private Albert G. Wilkey of the 2nd/8th Battalion, the Manchester Regiment. Son of Susan Wilkey of Ilfracombe and the late George Wilkey; husband of Bessie Wilkey of 17 Sunny Bank, Barnstaple. Born in Clydach, Wales, in 1878. Died 1 November 1918 aged 38. Buried in the churchyard of Holy Trinity, Barnstaple.
HENRY WILKINSON
2246 Private Henry Wilkinson of the Royal North Devon Hussars. Son of Eliza Wilkinson of 35 Wilder Road, Ilfracombe and the late Police Constable Henry Wilkinson; husband of Florence C. Dyer (formerly Wilkinson) of 13 Highfield Road, Ilfracombe. Born in Chelsea in 1892. Died 8 June 1919 aged 27.Buried in Holy Trinity Churchyard, Ilfracombe.

TF/200628 Josiah Garland Wrighton of the 9th Battalion, the Royal Sussex Regiment. Son of Alfred and Martha Wrighton of 3 Florence Villas, Torrs Park, Ilfracombe. Born in Ilfracombe in the December Quarter of 1894. Died 24 March 1918 aged 23. 
HENRY WYBRON
466185 Sergeant Henry Wybron of the 5th Battalion, the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment). Son of Henry and Mary Ann Wybron (née Rawle). Born in Ilfracombe 9 August 1874. Died 1 May 1917 aged 43.
