8172 Lance Corporal Arthur Cecil Turner of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Agnes and the late William Turner of Kentisbeare. Born in Kentisbeare in 1887. Died 17 October 1914 aged 27.

Captain Archibald John Michael Painter of the 5th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment; seconded to the Gold Coast Regiment (of the Royal West African Field Force).  Son of Archibald and Blanche Painter. Born in St Thomas, Exeter in the December Quarter of 1915. Died 29 February 1944 aged 28.
