The men named below gave their birthplace as Kenton at the time of their enlistment. However, there was a large Industrial School for Boys in Kenton from which many lads went directly into the Army or the Navy and this may, in part, account for a comparatively long list from such a small place. Many of the pupils at this school were orphans and may not have known where they were born so may have named Kenton by default. |
