Brian Randell has transcribed a number of Devon's Militia listings as originally published in Trewman's Flying Post. The Kingsbridge list is a muster roll dated 1801 and was published 21 May 1801. At this period, the various militia corps of Devon were being mobilised in case Napoleon should invade - hence the oath of allegiance required of the men.
