The War Memorial in Kingsbridge is prominently situated on the Promenade which runs along the Kingsbridge Estuary opposite the Quay .

Son of Francis (Master Grocer and Wine Merchant) and Ellen Adams of Kingsbridge; husband of Hagar Adams (née Wilson) of South Norwood, London. Born in Dartmouth in the March Quarter of 1873. Died 20 February 1917 aged 34.
E. BALL	Private Eli Ball of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of William John and Bertha Ball of 2 Brooke Cottage, Kingsbridge, and brother of Walter Ball (see below). Born in 1889. Died 25 September 1915 aged 26.
W. BALL	Sergeant Walter Harold Ball of the 9th Battalion, the Royal Fusiliers. Son of William John and Bertha Ball of 2 Brooke Cottage, Kingsbridge, and brother of Eli Ball (see above). Born in Kingsbridge in the September Quarter of 1895. Died 3 May 1917 aged 22. Awarded the Military Medal.
A. H. BEER	Air Mechanic 2nd Class Alfred Henry Beer of the 2nd Training Depot Squadron, the Royal Air Force. Son of George and Dorothy Beer of Church Street, Dodbrooke and husband of Rosa (née Drew). Born in the June Quarter of 1877 in Aveton Gifford. Died 16 October 1918 aged 41. Buried in the churchyard at Dodbrooke.
H. CLARKE	Private Harold Clark of the 10th Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment. Son of John Luckham and Kate Clark of 15 Waverley Road, Westville, Kingsbridge. Born in the December Quarter of 1896 at Kingsbridge. Died 20 July 1916 aged 19.
S. V. CLARKE	Lieutenant Stanley Vingoe Clarke of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of the late William Clarke and Clara (née Vingoe). Born in Saltash in the March Quarter of 1889. Died 6 May 1917 aged 28.

P. HANNAFORD	Believed to be Private William Percival ("Percy") Hannaford of 1/8th Battalion, the Durham Light Infantry. Son of William and Florence Hannaford. Born in Dodbrooke in the September Quarter of 1892. Died 27 May 1918 aged 25.
J. H. HAMMETT	Sapper John Herbert Hammett of the Royal Engineers. Son of Henry and Annie Hammett of 42 Fore Street, Kingsbridge. Born in the March Quarter of 1876 in Kingsbridge. Died 17 September 1915 aged 39. Buried in Kingsbridge Cemetery.

Son of Elizabeth Hoskin of Clanacombe Farm, Loddiswell and the late Philip John Hoskin; husband of Amelia Ellen Hoskin of Higher Centry, Kingsbridge. Born in 1880. Died 14 November 1918 aged 38.
W. HURRELL	Private William Henry Hurrell of the 8th Battalion, the Suffolk Regiment. Son of William and Elizabeth Hurrell and husband of Kate Hurrell (née Jacobs). Born in the December Quarter of 1888 in South Milton. Died 2 October 1916 aged 28.

R. LUSCOMBE	Private Robert Luscombe of the 16th Battalion, the London Regiment. Son of William and Mary Luscombe. Born in Black Awton in the June Quarter of 1892, grew up in Kingsbridge and later moved to London. Died 1 July 1917 aged 24.
W. E. LUSCOMBE	Private William Ewart Luscombe of the 1st Battalion, the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. Son of the late John and Sarah Luscombe; husband of the late Henrietta Luscombe (née Perring). Born in Kingsbridge in the September Quarter of 1886. Died 4 October 1917 aged 30.
H. MATTHEWS	Private (Hubert) Harold Owen Matthews of the 3rd Battalion, the Canadian Infantry. Son of William and Emily Matthews of Victoria Villa, Dodbrooke. Born in Dodbrooke March 1st 1885. Died 8 October 1916 aged 31.
G. NOYCE	Private Albert George Noyce of the Labour Corps, and formerly of the Hampshire Regiment. Son of Sidney and Matilda Noyce of Kingsbridge; husband of Bertha Violet Noyce (née Moore) of 7, Wills Terrace, Kingsbridge, Devon.. Born in Wadebridge, Cornwall in the March Quarter of 1882. Died 19 August 1917 aged 35.

Son of Valentine and Mary Pinhey; husband of Mary Bray (formerly Pinhey), of Bridge St., Blenheim, New Zealand. Born in the September Quarter of 1897 in Churchstow. Died 23 June 1917 aged 20.

C. N. RICH	Private 1st Class Charles (Charley) Norman Rich of the Royal Air Force. Son of Thomas and Ann Rich. Born in the September Quarter of 1889 in Kingsbridge. Died 9 October 1918 aged 29. Buried in Dodbrooke churchyard.
C. L. RICHARDS	Private Charles Leonard Richards of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of the late William and Elizabeth Richards. Born in the December Quarter of 1899 in Kingsbridge. Died 5 June 1918 aged 18.
C. W. RICHARDS	Private Charles William Richards of the 113th Coy.,the Labour Corps. Son of George and Delilah Richards; husband of Alice (née Tripp). Born in Halwell in the June Quarter of 1889. Died 29 September 1919 aged 30. Buried in Kingsbridge Cemetery.
H. ROPER	Private Harold Congdon Roper of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Grandson of Thomas and Sarah Roper of Dodbrooke. Born in the December Quarter of 1890 in Dodbrooke. Died 1 October 1915 aged 24.
J. RUDD	Private James Rudd of the Royal Army Medical Corps, and formerly of the Oxford Light Infantry. Son of Thomas and Susan Rudd; husband of Susan (née Damerell). Born in Kingsbridge 20 December 1875. Died 16 April 1918 aged 42. Awarded the Military Medal.
F. RYDER	Sergeant Frank Ryder of the 1st (Royal) Dragoons. Son of John and Mary Ryder; husband of Florence (née Stone). Born in Charleton, nr. Kingsbridge, in the December Quarter of 1881. Died 20 October 1914 aged 33.
H. SHEPHERD	Private Henry Shepherd of the 10th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of John and Emma Shepherd; husband of Rose Lilian Isabel Shepherd, of 84, Church St., Dodbrook, Kingsbridge. Born in Cornwood in the December Quarter of 1883. Died 25 June 1917 aged 33.
W. H. SQUIRES	Private William Henry Squires of the 140th Labour Company, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of John and Mary Squires; husband of Mabel (née Kelly). Born in Barnstaple in the September Quarter of 1894. Died 21 February 1919 aged 26. His connection with Kingsbridge is not yet known.
J. STONE	Private James Stone of the 8th battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Frederick C. and Sarah Jane Stone, of Southfield Cottages, West Alvington, Kingsbridge. Born in 1898 in Winterslow, Wilts. Died 26 September 1915 aged 17.

F. M. THOMAS	Company Sergeant Major Frederick Malcolm Thomas of the 17th Battalion, the Australian Infantry (A.I.F). Son of William John and Louie Thomas. Born in Kingsbridge in 1890. Died 27 February 1917 aged 27.
E. THORNTON	Company Serjeant Major Edward Charles Thornton of the 1st Battalion, the Somerset Light Infantry. Son of Edward and Ann Thornton of Church Street, Dodbrooke. Born in the December Quarter of 1884 in Wiltshire. Died 6 July 1915 aged 30.
F. J. TREEBY	Air Mechanic 2nd Class Francis John Treeby of the RAF. Son of John and Emily Treeby, of Kingsbridge and husband of Lillian Bertha Moore (formerly Treeby), of 4 Back, 40 Bromsgrove St., Birmingham. Born in the September Quarter of 1876 in Kingsbridge. Died 14 February 1919 aged 42. Buried in Coventry Cemetery.

J. H. VEALE	Private John Henry Veale of the 1st/7th Battalion, the Worcestershire Regiment. Son of John Henry and Annie Veale of Kingsbridge. Born in Kingsbridge in the December Quarter of 1895. Died 9 October 1917 aged 22.
F. W. VOYSEY	Corporal Francis ("Frank") William Voysey of the 32nd Motor Ambulance Convoy, the Royal Army Medical Corps. Son of the late Francis and Ellen Voysey of Kingsbridge and brother of Mrs. Annie Harris, of Beachdown Cottages, Blaydon, Paignton. Born in Kingsbridge in the September Quarter of 1893. Died 5 September 1918 aged 27.
G. T. WEBB	Second Lieutenant George Tudor Webb of the 24th Battalion, the Royal Fusiliers. Second son of William H Webb, for many years a Kingsbridge doctor and Medical Officer for the Borough. Born in Kingsbridge in 1889 and killed in action 21 April 1916 aged 27.

H. F. CAMP	Cook's Mate Horace Frederick Camp of the Royal Navy, HMS Lion. Son of Thomas and Susan Camp of 68 Church Street, Dodbrooke. Born in Kingsbridge in the December Quarter of 1892. Died at the Battle of Jutland 31 May 1916 aged 23.

Born in West Alvington in the March Quarter of 1864. Died 15 December 1916 aged 52. Buried in the churchyard at Dodbrooke.
