2nd Lieutenant Arthur Dale of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. His parents have not yet been identified. He was born in Lytham, Lancs, in the September Quarter of 1895. Died 25 September 1916 aged 21.

7953 Sergeant Own Samuel Day of the 16th Battalion, the Cheshire Regiment. Son of Henry and Henrietta Day of Osborne Street, Newton Abbot; husband of Edith Day of Talgarth, Brecon. Died 9 September 1917 aged 43. Awarded the Military Medal.

5733 Lance Corporal John Edward Dore of the 1st Battalion, the Royal Dragoons. Son of Bessie Dore of Highweek Street, Newton Abbot and the late Frederick Dore; brother of Frederick (see below) Born in Torquay in 1887. Died 13 May 1915 aged 22.

Son of Bessie Dore of Highweek Street, Newton Abbot and the late Frederick Dore; brother of John (see above). Born in Newton Abbot in 18979. Died 28 May 1915 aged 18. Commemorated on the GWR Memorial.

Lieutenant Arthur Edwin Durham of the Royal Navy, HMS Laforey. Son of William and Priscilla Durham. Born in Burnley, Lancs, 26 September 1888. Died 20 March 1917 aged 20.
G. E. EASTERBROOK
The memorial states that he was a Private in the Royal Army Supply Corps, MT Section. No other information is yet known about this man.

141902 Corporal Sidney George Elms of the Eastern Ontario Regiment, the Canadian Infantry.Son of John and Lavinia Elms; husband of Clair Elms of North bay, Ontario. Born in Newton Abbot in the September Quarter of 1878. Died 18 August 1917 aged 39.

TF/238097 Private Thomas James Ford of the 1st Battalion, the Middlesex Regiment. Grandson of Mrs. Elizabeth Field of 4 Lemon Road, Newton Abbot who brought him up. Thought to be the son of her daughter, Mary Ford. Born in Newton Abbot in the June Quarter of 1897. Died 22 September 1918 aged 21.
