18943 Private George Garrett of the Depot Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of John and Emily Garrett. Born in Newton Abbot in the March Quarter of 1895. Died 18 April 1917 aged 23. Buried in the churchyard at Ipplepen.

305964 Stoker 1st Class Wilfred Gibson of the Royal Navy, HMS Defence. Son of Edward and Lavinia Gibson.. Born in Newton Abbot 5 January 1885 - later moved to Plymouth. Died 31 May 1916 aged 31.
