F. J. BOWDEN
242115 Private Frederick James Bowden of the 1st Battalion, the Queen's Own Regiment ( The Royal West Kents). Son of Edwin and Sarah Jane Bowden of Helton farm, Bridford. Born in North Bovey in 1894. Died 3 October 1917 aged 23.
J, HILL
J3361 Able Seaman James Hill of the Royal Navy, HMS Bonaventure. Parents not known. According to Navy records, he was born 26 June 1892 in Portsoy, Banffshire.  Died of illness 28 March 1915 aged 23. Buried in North Bovey Churchyard.
L.MARTIN
62525 Private Lawrence Henry Martin of the 9th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of William and Elizabeth Martin of North Bovey.  Born in North Bovey in 1881. Died 26 October 1917 aged 36.
W.PARKER
26141 Private William Parker of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of John and Charlotte Parker. Born in North Bovey in 1883. Died 21 October 1916 aged 35.
R.STEVENS
15039 Sergeant Robert Stevens of the 8th Battalion, the Somerset Light Infantry; formerly 13304 of the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Robert and Susan Stevens of Manaton. Born in Moretonhampstead in 1887. Died 1 July 1916 aged 29.

 

1939 - 1945
C.MOYER
1209267 Sergeant Clifford Moyer of the RAF Volunteer Reserve,  Husband of Rachel Moyer of North Bovey. Born in Sheffield in the March Quarter of 1914. Died 15 July 1942 aged 28. Believed to have died in Canada while training Canadian pilots.
W.J.RICE
1876983 Sapper William James Rice of 238 Field Company, the Royal Engineers. Son of Walton and Mary Jane Rice. Born in North Bovey in the June Quarter of 1920. Died 18 June 1943 aged 23.

D. Y. RICHARDSON
225947 Major Douglas Yeoman Richardson of the Royal Army Medical Corps. Son of Ernest and Emma Richardson; husband of Nancy Richardson. Born in Newcastle-on-Tyne in the September Quarter of 1906. Died 4 September 1942 aged 36. He  held the medical qualifications of MRCS;  LRCP; and DLO. 
E.WALKER
3459176 Corporal (Alfred) Edward Walker ("Ted") of the 6th battalion, the King's Own Royal Regiment (The Lancashire Regiment. Son of George and Elsie Walker; husband of Ada Walker. Born in North Bovey in the June Quarter of 1912.  Died 22 July 1942 aged 30.
