D/214619 Chief Petty Officer Charles Bellew of the Royal Navy. Son of Thomas and Alice of Northam; husband of Sarah Bellew of Northam. Born in Northam in 1886. Died 2 June 1944 aged 58. Buried in Northam Churchyard.

D/JX Signalman John William Day of the Royal Navy, HMS Diamond. Son of Frederick and Minnie Day of Westward Ho!; brother of Robert (see below). Born in 1922. Died 27 April 1941 aged 19, when his ship was lost.
R.F.DAY
D/JX 194805 Boy 1st Class Robert Frank Day of the Royal Navy, HM MTB 640. Son of Frederick and Minnie Day of Westward Ho!; brother of John (see above. Born in 1927. Died 27 June 1944 aged 17 when his ship was lost.
J.C.GRAHAM

Lieut. John Christopher Graham of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve. Lt Graham was on his way to the Ark Royal when he was killed on SS Aquila on 19 August 1941

D/J 88112 Able Seaman William Charles Glover of the Royal Navy, HMS Sultan. Son of George and Maud Glover of Northam. Born in Northam in 1902. Died as a Prisoner of War 24 July 1943 aged 41. 
E.GIBSON
D/JX 23840 Assistant Steward Edward Gibson of the Royal Navy, HMS Exmoor. Son of Richard and Margaret Gibson of Richmond. Born in 1920. Died 25 February 1941  aged 21 when his ship was lost
R.H.D.LANE
Cammander Robert Henry Douglas Lane of the Roytal Navy, HMS Wryneck. Son of Charles and Lelia Lane; husband of Eveline Lane of Westward Ho!. Born 15 February 1896. Died 27 April 1941 aged 45 when his ship was sunk by bombs from German aircraft near Greece.

D/JX 138700 Able Seaman Edward F. John James of the Royal Navy, HMS Punjabi. Son of Mary Ann James. Born in 1918. Died 13 April 1940 aged 22 at the 2nd Battle of Nervik. 
S.H.GIBSON
N/WRNS 87102 Wren Sylvia Heather Gibson.  Daughter of John and Esther Gibson. Born  in Northam in December 1925. Died of natural causes in Italy 26 February 1945 aged 20. Buried in Northam Churchyard.

D/JX 570327 Able Seaman John Gerald Hancock of the Royal Navy. HMS Biter.  Son of Stanley and Annie of Northam. Born in Northam in 1925, Died of natural causes 5 October 1944 aged 19. Buried in bideford Cemetery.
W.MOUNTJOY
D/K 63696 Petty Officer Stoker  William Henry Mountjoy. Son of John and Martha Mountjoy; husband of Ivy Mountjoy. Born in Westleigh 28 September 1904. Killed 6 December 1946 aged 42 - circumstances not known.

D/J 100622 Petty Officer Archibald Perry of the Royal Navy, HMS Mahratta. Son of William and Alice Perry; husband of Lilian Perry of Devonport. Born in Bideford in 1925.  25 February 1944 aged 39.
W.J.TAYLOR
LT/JX Seaman William John Taylor of the Royal Naval Patrol Service, HM Patrol Vessel Lerna. Husband of Annie Taylor. Born in Bideford in 1888. Died 8 June 1941 aged 53. Buried in Appledore Churchyard.
L.J.TILLIE DSC & Bar
Lt. Leopald John Tillie of the Royal Navy, HMS Hotspur. Son of Lt. Col. W. Kingsley Tillie DSO; MC, and his wife Victoria of Westward Ho! Born in Westward Ho!. Died 12 September 1942 aged 23.
J.LOOMES

WRNS 37525 Wren Joan Elizabeth Loomes of the Royal Navy, HMS Vulture. Daughter of William and Lilian Loomes  of Westward Ho! Died of natural causes 22 February 1945 aged 20.

HMS Vulture was formerly Treligga Aerodrome, near Padstow, occupied by the Fleet Air Arm during the war. It was a base for aerial bombing practice and gunnery.
