Along with this most interesting narrative, Dr. Stentiford sent the details about the family of Nicholas Stentiford which Marjorie Stentiford had compiled, enabling us to re-write the chart we first published in Issue 15. Information which appeared in the original chart is shown in black - new information is given in red.

And doesn't that fresh information fill in some gaps! But there's more. We now know that Nicholas's first wife died aged 48 on April 1st 1872, leaving Nicholas with several young children to care for. Seven years after her death, he married his brother Samuel's widow, Mary Stentiford (formerly Mary Lee) 4 May 1879. She survived Nicholas by a little over 6 months, dying at the age of 81 on 23 Sep 1909.
