A. BEER	M2/202579 Private Albert Beer of the Royal Army Service Corps. Son of Arthur and Martha Beer. Born in Christow in 1894 but lived in Totnes. Died 15 September 1918 aged 23.
J.COUNTER (aka COURTIER on various documents )	11754 Private John Henry Counter of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Edwin and Mary Counter of Spara Bridge Cottage. Born in Christow in 1884. Died 6 November 1917 aged 33.
T. GIDLEY	291071 Private Theodore Gidley of the 9th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of the late George and Elizabeth Gidley. Born in Christow in 1878. Died 5 October 1918 aged 40.
W.F. GOVE	9423 Drummer William Frank Gove of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of William and Annie Gove. Born in Christow in 1893. Died 23 May 1915 aged 21.
F.G.HAMLYN	8916 Private Frederick George Hamlyn of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of George and Caroline Hamlyn; brother of William (see below). Born in Christow in 1894. Died 26 January 1915 aged 21.
W.T..HAMLYN	William Hamlyn's Medal Card reveals that his mother had to campaign in 1920 for a complete set of medals for both her sons. It took her 6 months but eventually she received 1914 Stars with clasps for both men. 9437 Private William Thomas Hamlyn of the 9th battalion, the Devonshire Regiment.. Son of George and Caroline Hamlyn; brother of Frederick (see above). Born in Christow in 1893. Died 1 July 1916 aged 20.
R. HUXTABLE	2362 Private Reginald Huxtable of the Royal North Devon Hussars. Son of Mary Jane Huxtable (w). Born in Fremington in 1897. Died 20 October 1915 at sea aged 18.
C.G.STANCOMBE	10208 Private Charles George Stancombe of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of George and Mary Ann Stancombe. Born in Bovey Tracey in 1894. Died 25 September 1915 aged 21.
C.WILLS	10185 Private Charles Wills of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of George and Mary Ann Wills of Bowden, Christow. Born in Christow in 1895. Died 2 October 1917 aged 22.
G.WILLS	10203 Private George Horrell Wills of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of Francis and Harriet Wills. Born in the St Thomas Registration District 5 March 1888. Died in an accident on board 27 April 1919 aged 33.
G.WILLS	SS 1368 Leading Seaman Gordon Wills of the Royal Navy. Son of Francis and Harriet Wills. Born in St Thomas Registration District 5 March 1888. Died in an accident on board SS Belgic 27 April 1919 aged 31.
J.WILLS	47360 Rifleman John Wills of the 1st Battalion, the Royal Irish Rifles; formerly 028106 of the Royal Army Service Corps. Son of William and Elllen Wills; brother of William (see below). Born in Christow in 1892. Died 23 March 1918 aged 25.
T.WILLS	44522 Private Thomas Wills of the 2nd/4th Battalion, the Royal Berkshire Regiment, formerly 37419 of the Wiltshire Regiment. Son of William Henry and Ellen Wills. Born in Christow in 1899. Died 23 April 1918 aged 19.
W.G.WILLS	232299 Sergt. William George Wills of the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Fusiliers. Son of William and Elizabeth Wills. Born in Christow in 1894 but lived in Woolwich, Died 10 September 1918.
