14645839 Driver Arthur Ernest Steele of 234 Field Company, the Royal Engineers. Son of John and Agnes Steele; husband of Alfreda Winnifred Mary Ellen Steele (née Doidge) of Paignton. Died 2 July 1944 - age not known.
PERCY BRIMBLECOMBE

(The War Graves Commission refers to this man as "Peter" but the name registered in the GRO at the time of his birth is "Percy")

4543167 Private Percy (Peter?) Brimblecombe of the 4th Battalion, the Somerset Light Infantry. Son of Thomas and Edith Mary Brimblecombe (née Pester) of Dunsford. Born in Dunsford in the December Quarter of 1924. Died 10 July 1944 aged 19.

FREDERICK SMITH
1851719 Sergeant (Wireless Operator and Air Gunner) Frederick Samuel Richard Smith of 40 Squadron, the RAF Volunteer Rerserve. Son of Frederick and Eliza Smith of Dunsford. Born in Dunsford in 1922. Died 23 November 1944 aged 22.
CYRIL JAMES
1456925 Sergeant Cyril John James of the 8th Battalion, the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Son of Cyril Fred and Daisy James (née Smallridge); husband of Ruby Violet James of |Tiverton. Born in Dunsford in the March Quarter of 1915. Died 18 April 1945 aged 30.

 

WILLIAM VANSTONE
25039924 Lance Corporal William Nicholas Vanstone ("Bill") of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment. Son of John and Sheila Vanstone. Born in 1972. Died as a result of a road traffic accident while serving with peace-keeping forces  in Bosnia 6 December 1999 aged 27.
