3508 Quarter Master Sergeant John Williams of the 3rd Battalion, the King's Own Scottish Borderers. When he died of dysentry on 12 0ctober 1900 at Christiana aged 42 he had given 20 years service to his regiment. He is buried in the churchyard at Sidmouth. |

Dangerously wounded at Nooitgedacht 13 December 1900. Died 28 December 1900 at Pretoria aged 26. Awarded the Queen's South Africa Medal with clasps for Diamond Hill, Cape Colony and Orange Free State. |
